Last studio session we managed to lay down the drum tracks for:
It was an absolute pleasure working with the session drummer. Professional, open to suggestion and full of great ideas. It was fantastic to hear the sound of live drums and having someone that was able to make my weird sounds and attempts to sound like a drum come to life, was really rewarding. The sound of the kit was a blast from the past and it took me back many years to the performance days.
So next session in the studio will be time to lay down the bass. Unfortunately my Cort C4 bass got a crack in the neck but the guitar tech at Marshall Music was able to repair the crack and now I get to play it. Just busy working out the bass lines and matching them up to the drum lines laid down in the last session.
Here is the lead section for the track "Drifter"
And then a taste of the acoustic from the track "78 Zero 6 Zero 7"
New tracks on the way
With all the focus I have been putting on preparing for the studio sessions, I have been neglecting the new ideas. A few days ago I got a burst of inspiration and started work on two new tracks. A third is rattling around in my head and will probably become concrete but for now I will focus on the two that I have begun writing.
The addition of the Taylor and a new Ibanez RG has definitely helped get the juices flowing. Studios in rhythm and composition have also added to the ideas coming up. So, Lord willing, things will continue to progress. Again a big thank you for all your support and until the next update - keep rocking!

My initial project has finally launched the album. Pretty excited about it all, finally, there is a line in the sand
Last week friday I received news that my musical mentor and dear friend had passed away. His family asked me to do an eulogy. Having delivered it this afternoon, I decided I wanted to let the world know about the man that had shaped me into some semblance of a musician.
Loads of fun and games in the last studio session!
Often we strive for perfection and give little thought to the untold pressure it places on us. This pressure has a significantly adverse effect on our creative ability.
