It was a track I was procrastinating about documenting but ran out of excuses once the other track No Place (I'd rather be) had been completed. Turned out that it was easier to get down than I expected.
The really interesting part was working everything out by ear as it had been a while since I played the track. It didn't take very long to figure out the man electric guitar pieces but the nylon pieces provided to be rather tricky. All good though, with a little persistence, it all came around.
While righting it, I noticed I had played a few sections out of time and the playing was extremely rough. So now, taking this to the studio is going to afford me the opportunity to record it cleaner and tighten up the playing. While going through this I also listened to a few previously unreleased Megadeth demo tracks, I was very excited to hear how rough the playing was. This has helped me wrap my head around where the SoundCloud platform fits in.
After a little thinking I decided that I will be creating a "Demos" play list and a play list for the album. This way you guys get to hear the before and after! It also provides me with a really cool means to decide which tracks to record and which ones didn't have much impact.
Anyways, I digress. So the rhythm sections have been documented, perhaps a little arrangement needs to happen on the track but the primary chord changes have been documented. Certain lead sections have also been captured but the improvised sections still need to be documented. Having it in Guitar Pro 6 will also allow me to refine the lead ideas.
Once the lead is complete then I can get on with the bass line. This is going to be challenging as bass is not my primary instrument but I am pretty confident that it will all turn out good. Once that is done, I need to figure out a way to get the track to the session drummer. When he has completed his drum track - well - then it is time to put it all together!

My initial project has finally launched the album. Pretty excited about it all, finally, there is a line in the sand
Last week friday I received news that my musical mentor and dear friend had passed away. His family asked me to do an eulogy. Having delivered it this afternoon, I decided I wanted to let the world know about the man that had shaped me into some semblance of a musician.
My sincere apologies for being so quiet. Things have been really busy my side and some really exciting developments are under way. So here it is, a long over due update.
Loads of fun and games in the last studio session!
Often we strive for perfection and give little thought to the untold pressure it places on us. This pressure has a significantly adverse effect on our creative ability.
